Finally made it....

Again, I've been pretty pants with getting the blog updated over the last few months. So much has been happening and before we knew it, it was time to get packed up and leave for the UK.

Our journey has been an interesting one. We were due to leave at 8:05 on Wednesday evening. We arrived at Brisbane airport at 4:00 only to find out that our flight had been delayed until 10:30. They weren't letting us check our lugguage in so we had to amuse ourselves in the main check-in hall until we were called. As you can imagine the children's interest in the row dividers only lasted for so long! At 8pm they told us that the flight was being cancelled. The plane was due to leave Auckland and pick us up, but there was a problem with the emergency lighting so it couldn't take off. We came back on Thursday and our flight finally took off at 2:30. We flew onto Singapore and then had an 8 hour wait in Dubai.

The children were really good and slept most of the way between Singapore and Dubai and once we boarded in Dubai, they had about 4 hours sleep. There were a few moments of tension but all in all it was pretty good. I'd have to say that other than our journey home, I wouldn't want to do this kind of journey again until the children are happy amusing themselves. It's been pretty tiring.

We arrived at Ian and Rach's at about 3pm, and have managed to keep the children up until normal bedtime. Let's see how the night goes. I don't think Dave and I will be up for long either! Dave managed to get a few hours during the journey but I didn't. Definitely getting ready for sleep now.
