Phew....

Well as you can imagine things have been pretty hectic over the last couple of weeks.
The day after we arrived Dave's Dad, Brian and his soon to be wife Audrey came over for lunch and a play with the children. Nanny and Grandad when down a treat especially after they offered the chocolate biccies!!
We headed down to Kent for our first expedition to visit Julie, Gary, Elliott and Piers. It was a lovely afternoon and evening, although it did rain the whole time! Em and Leila caught the train down so finally saw my sister after nearly a year. Needless to say it was fantastic to see them both.
From there we headed back up to Nuneaton via Ascot to visit my friend Cath, her husband Nigel and their lovely daugther Eve who is a day younger than Leila. It was great to catch up with them after such a long time and to see the amazing renovations they are doing to their house. Hopefully Cath will get her kitchen in soon.

On Tuesday we headed into McKesson in Warwick to say hello to our old work mates. It was really weird being back there and apart from a few new faces, nothing seemed to change. We had a walk about Nuneaton with Rachael and Hazel on Wednesday and then headed over to Frank and Heidi's for dinner in the evening. It certainly didn't seem like 5 months since we last saw them.
On Thursday we headed over to Northampton to spend some time with Martin and Louisa. It didn't take Matthew and Georgia long to get back into play and they kept themselves entertained for most of the afternoon.

On Friday we headed over to Suffolk where we had rented a cottage for the long weekend with Emilie and Leila. We were staying near the seaside town of Southwald in a lovely cottage. It was great spending time with Emilie and also for the children to have some playtime together. We wished we had booked it for longer than the 4 days!

We arrived home on the Monday evening. Tuesday we spent in Nuneaton getting ourselves sorted for the next week and headed down to Chingford in the evening in preparation for Brian's wedding on the Wednesday. The wedding was lovely and both Brian and Audrey looked relaxed and like they had a lovely day. They've jetted off to Spain for their honeymoon.

The following day we headed into London to meet Emilie and Leila for a trip on the London eye and then a picnic in St James' park. We headed for a walk through Leicester Square and Soho and then caught the train back to Chingford. We then drove up to see my Godmother, Auntie Shirley and her husband Uncle Pete. It was lovely to see them and Auntie Shirley cooked us a lovely dinner.

Friday morning we headed up to Luton airport to catch our flight to Inverness to see Neil and Sallyanne. In true Green holiday fashion, our plane was initially delayed by an hour. We then boarded the plane at 12:05 and didn't take off until 1:35!!! As you can imagine the children were pretty grumpy even before we took off for the hour flight especially as we all had to remain seated the whole time we were on the ground!! We're dreading our flight to Moscow this week....

Our weekend with Neil and Sallyanne was fantastic. We had lovely weather and the children got to run around the garden for a couple of days.

We got home on Sunday evening and dumped everything at Ian and Rach's front door and then spent the rest of the evening with them and a couple of bottles of red wine!

Looking forward to a hopefully fairly relaxed last couple of weeks!
