Happy New Year

Well, is it just me or did 2007 just disappear?! One minute we were putting the Christmas tree down and then unpacking it all the next. Let's hope that 2008 slows down a little bit.

We had a lovely Christmas and thank you to everyone who sent presents for the children. They were both thoroughly spoilt. More personal thank yous are on their way.

We've had a fairly busy few months since I last posted...

Matthew has started going to day care for a day a week. It is an early learning centre based at the school that we're hoping to put both children in. There were a few seperation issues for the first four or five weeks, but he seems ok now and comes home with plenty of artwork.

In his uniform
He is obsessed with anything that moves, planes, cars, trucks, motorbikes, helicopters, but most especially trains. He loves Thomas the Tank and is gradually building up a pretty big collection of the trains. It's amazing to sit and listen to him role playing with them. Completely in a world of his own, I have to get right down on the floor with him to get his attention! Matthew is proving to be such a lovely little boy, although he does have his moments!! He is very very attentive to his little sister and will generally play really well with her, although he's not too impressed with her car and train handling at the moment!

Sophie has gone from our little baby into a lovely (sometimes not) two year old. Where has that time gone!!!!! She is talking really well, most of which I think is down to trying to keep up with her brother. We now have her potty trained after she refused to keep her nappy on. It's taken about three weeks, but I think we're pretty much there. We're still waiting on a couple more teeth to arrive and I think that Sophie is suffering a bit with them, so hopefully won't be too much longer. Her favourite things at the moment are her muslin, still, which she carries around everywhere, any of Matthew's trains, drawing, painting, fuzzy felts and helping out with the dusting. Oh, and eating, poor little mite has inherited her Mother's appetite! She is a real little character who absolutely loves the men in her life.

Dave is doing really well. We had his office Christmas party at the beginning of December. A river cruise along Noosa River, it was absolutely lovely. I particularly enjoyed looking into the million dollar houses along the river! Dave was feeling a little ordinary the following morning, I think he said it was something to do with a dodgy prawn!!!!

All is well with me, I am feeling so much more settled here than I probably thought I every would. I have some really lovely friends and keep myself pretty busy. The children are of course a huge part of my life, and I do find that other things just have to wait these days. Business is going well and Judy and I are hoping Pitter Patter Prints will go from strength to strength this year.

Our plans for this year include a visit from my brother and sister with their families for my Dad's 70th birthday, Dave's Dad and his wife are coming over for a visit in the middle of the year, buying a tent and finally getting out camping, visit more of this beautiful country, and generally try and take it a little easier!!! We'll see how we go.
